Cheryl – Office Manager
I have worked for Welmerink Orthodontics for over twenty years, but in two shifts. I worked here from 1985-1995 then moved to Las Vegas. When I returned to Sparks in 2005 I happily accepted Dr. Welmerink’s offer to come back to the practice as an assistant. At the beginning of 2011 I took over as office manager. Working for Welmerink Orthodontics has always been so much fun and so fulfilling. One of the things I have always liked best about working here is getting to know the patients and their families and making their experience in our office a pleasant and happy one.
I have three children of my own. My son Brian is a civil engineer and lives in Southern California with his wife Erin. My oldest daughter, Nicole, and her husband LT Chase Strickland, are currently stationed in Lemoore, CA. Chase flies F-18’s for the United States Navy and Nicole is currently at home raising my two grandsons: Sawyer 2, and Shane 4 months. My youngest daughter, Megan, recently graduated from UNR and will be attending Veterinary school in September 2016.
I love spending my time off with my grandbabies and enjoy biking or skiing in the great outdoors with my husband, Vince.
Andrea – Treatment Coordinator
I joined the Welmerink Orthodontics team in December of 2011. I worked in the orthodontic field from 2000-2006, before I was a stay-at-home mom for 5 years. As Treatment Coordinator, I am responsible for making sure your initial visit is a positive and educational experience. I welcome questions about your treatment. I am responsible for taking the initial records and scheduling your treatment as indicated by our doctors. My goal is to make your entry into our practice smooth and comfortable.
Running, camping, skiing and spending time at the beach are some of my favorite hobbies. My husband, Ryan, and I have three beautiful boys. Blaine is 10 and in 4th grade. Logan is 8 and has started 2nd grade. They all play baseball and love to ski. Mitchell is 5 and is looking forward to starting kindergarten in the fall. We love watching them grow and discover new things.
Angie – Treatment Coordinator
I have worked in the orthodontic field for over 20 years. I feel like it is the best field possible because our patients are having a life-altering experience getting the smile of their dreams. As Treatment Coordinator, I will walk you through the initial exam process, which includes photos and x-rays. I will explain the treatment plan that our doctors have designed for you, go over payment options and schedule your starting appointment which will lead to your perfect smile.
I have lived in the Reno area for 26 years. My husband, Mark, and I enjoy spending time with family and friends. We recently became grandparents when our son and daughter-in-law had a baby boy on 2/3/16. He will definitely add joy to our lives. We also have a daughter and son-in-law in Reno and a daughter who lives with her partner in Las Vegas.
Jamie – Scheduling Coordinator
I have been with the Welmerink Orthodontics team since 2012 and I am very excited to be here! I have worked in the dental field for the past 9 years and especially love working with orthodontic patients. It is such a fulfilling job when you see the happiness a great smile brings our patients.
I moved here in 2003 from Northern California and I love all that Northern Nevada has to offer! My husband and I enjoy the outdoors and spend as much time as possible hiking, camping and exploring. I also enjoy spending time with my four sons and working on DIY projects around the house.
I hope to make your experience here a positive one from the minute you walk in the door!
Linda Jo – Orthodontic Clinical Assistant
I have worked in Pediatric and Orthodontic Dentistry for over 30 years. This year will mark my 20th year working for Welmerink Orthodontics. The best 20 years of my life! My family, outside of this office consists of my daughter Jessica and son Cody. Jessica is a pharmacist in town. I sure do miss my many trips to New York City while she was there for Pharmacy school. Cody will be graduating in May 2016 from UNR with a Civil Engineering Degree.
I am very health oriented in my personal life and try to bring that dedication to work. I love to share my stories of running 12 marathons and numerous ½ marathons. I even ran in the Boston Marathon twice. I am a Disney Freak and enjoy anything outdoors, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Rayna – Orthodontic Clinical Assistant
I have loved working in orthodontics for 16 years for many reasons, but the one that stands out to me the most is watching how improving a smile has such lasting effects on a person. I’ve enjoyed meeting and talking to people from all different walks of life and feeling like a part of their family while making them a part of ours. I love talking and hearing about food and learning about Reno life while talking about growing up in California. When I’m not at work, you can find me and my husband volunteering, eating, cooking or at the gym!
Nicole - Orthodontic Clinical Assistant
I have worked in the orthodontic field for 7½ years. I graduated from the TMCC Dental Assisting Program in 2006. My favorite thing about my job is bringing people happiness by transforming their smile. Some of my favorite things to do are run, ski, spend time with family and friends and take Mommy and Me Swim Lessons with my 3 year old daughter, Adalyn. My husband, Matt, and I were born and raised in Sparks. I am a previous patient of Dr. Welmerink’s, as I had braces completed when I was in 5th grade. I am so happy that I am able to work for such amazing doctors!
Micaela - Orthodontic Clinical Assistant
I have seen this practice from both sides as a patient since 2014 and as a part of the Welmerink Orthodontics team as an assistant as of July 2015. This practice is absolutely amazing. I went to dental assisting school at TMCC, graduated and made the Dean’s List. I am CPR certified and am actively certified with the Dental Assisting National Board. This is a huge achievement for me. I get a thrill out of meeting all of our patients and being able to see their transformations.
My family is everything! I have a 7 year old, four legged son (dog) Duke. I enjoy camping, dirk track racing, work, and just being with my family. If I have already met you, see you soon, and if I haven’t, I can’t wait to!
Suzi – Orthodontic Lab Technician
I have worked in the orthodontic field for over 30 years. I enjoy the creativity of making appliances for the practice and being a part of a fun team.
Having two children and two grandchildren has brought incredible joy to my life as with other activities like camping and getting together with friends to share life’s great experiences.
