I have worked for Dr. Welmerink for a total of 16 years, but in two shifts. I worked here from 1985-1995 then moved to Las Vegas. When I returned to Sparks in 2005 I happily accepted Dr. Welmerink’s offer to come back to the practice as an assistant. Working for Dr. Welmerink has always been so much fun and so fulfilling. I love interacting with our patients and having fun with them. For the past few years I have been helping with the clerical part of the practice as well, and at the beginning of 2011 took over as office manager which has been a great transition for me! One of the things I have always liked best about working here is getting to know the patients and their families and making their experience in our office a pleasant and happy one.
I have three children of my own. My son Brian is a civil engineer in Las Vegas. My oldest daughter Nicole, and son-in-law, Ensign Chase Strickland, have recently been stationed in Meridian, Mississippi where Chase is continuing his Naval Aviation training as a jet pilot. Nicole will soon be graduating as a Certified Surgical Technologist from Pensacola State College and plans on working and enjoying her time with Chase in their new home in Mississippi. My youngest daughter Megan will be starting her freshman year at UNR this fall.
I love spending time off with my fiancé Vince in the great outdoors hiking and biking or skiing!

Andrea • Treatment Coordinator
I have recently joined Dr. Welmerink’s Orthodontic team. I worked in the orthodontic field from 2000-2006 and have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 5 years. I am really excited about getting back into orthodontics. As Treatment Coordinator, I am responsible for making sure your initial visit is a positive and educational experience. I welcome your questions about your treatment. I am responsible for taking the initial records and scheduling your treatment as indicated by Dr. Welmerink. My goal is to make your entry into our practice smooth and comfortable.
Running, camping, hiking and spending time at the beach are some of my favorite hobbies. My husband, Ryan, and I have 3 beautiful boys. Blaine just started kindergarten and absolutely loves school. Logan is looking forward to going to kindergarten in the fall and Mitchell just turned 1 and is full of energy. We love watching them grow and discover new things.

Jamie • Orthodontic Clinical Assistant
I am the newest member of the Welmerink Orthodontics team and I’m very excited to be here! I have worked in the dental field for the past 5 years and especially love working with orthodontic patients! It is such a fulfilling job when you see the happiness a great smile brings your patients!
I moved here in 2003 from Northern California with my husband and four sons. We are all very active in the outdoors and try to spend as much time outside as possible. I enjoy spending my time with “the boys”, hiking, camping, painting and all different sports.
I hope to make your experience here a positive one from the minute you walk in the door!

I have worked in pediatric and orthodontic dentistry for over 30 years. This is my 15th year with Dr. Welmerink. Working in this office is amazing! I have two awesome kids. Jessica is living in New York City attending pharmacy school. I try to get to New York as often as I can! Cody is going to UNR after finishing 2 years at Mendocino College. It is great to have him back.
I am very health oriented in my personal life and bring that dedication to work. I love to share my stories of training for marathons and all kinds of exercise in hopes of motivating others to be more active and healthy. I have run in ten marathons, twice in the Boston Marathon, and I hope to do more. I also enjoy snow and water skiing and anything outdoors!

Rayna • Orthodontic Clinical Assistant
I have worked in the orthodontic field ever since I was a senior in high school 11 years ago and am so pleased I made that choice. I joined Dr. Welmerink’s team in December of 2010, so I am the “newbie”. I love orthodontics and especially get excited to see all the advances in technology that help to make the orthodontic experience easier and more efficient for our patients.
As a clinical assistant, I enjoy sharing time with our patients, learning more about them, and educating them on what’s happening with their treatment. I also enjoy talking about food, my home town in the Bay Area and my bunny Opus! My husband, Menard, and I have been together for 4 years.

Shirley • Lab Technician
I have worked for Dr. Welmerink for the past 3 years. My responsibility in the office is the lab work. I have more than 30 years experience and take a great deal of pride in the retainers and appliances that I make. All the different colors, glitters and patterns, make designing your retainers a lot of fun. Outside the office I enjoy family activities such as camping, sports and gardening. Spending time with my daughter, son and 5 grandchildren is most important to me.
